    During Black History Month, we are stepping outside of the United States and into the rich continent of Africa! As a special appearance, students and visitors will have an opportunity to view Ms. Catholic’s private collection of authentic African artifacts originating from various parts of Central and West Africa! This exhibition includes authentic artifacts from Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Mali, Côte d’Ivoire, Congo, Cameroon, and Nigeria.

    Student Art Exhibit: "Africa: The Fabric of Life" 2025

    Africa: The Fabric of Life transforms an empty classroom into a museum-style exhibition space, modeling authentic art-world practices while fostering critical thinking, cultural understanding, and student agency in the first-ever student-curated art exhibition at North Metro Academy of Performing Arts.

  • Honoring Culture & Mexican Folk Art

    Alebrijes sculptures were a perfect way to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in our community. Alebrijes are fantastic Mexican folk art hybrid surreal creatures created by Pedro Linares in Mexico City in the 1940’s. The imaginary creatures are made of papier-mâché and decorated with intense, bright colors, intricate patterns, geometric shapes, and stripes and dots, often symbolizing spirit guides.

  • Immersive Polka Dots with Yayoi Kusama

    Japanese artist, Yayoi Kusama, created The Obliteration Room, 2002, which was the inspiration for students to transform the administrator’s hallway into a vibrant explosion of color using over 800 brightly colored polka dot stickers!
