About the Artist

My artistic practice blends portraiture, abstraction, and layered mixed-media techniques to honor the complexity of human stories—both deeply personal and universally resonant. With over three decades as a fine artist and more than 20 years as an educator, I’ve cultivated a unique understanding of art as a tool for self-expression, reflection, and connection.

I am continually drawn to the layered beauty of people—their quiet strength, their vulnerabilities, and the invisible histories they carry. My work seeks to hold space for all of it. Through a fusion of traditional and experimental techniques, I move fluidly between realism and abstraction, crafting visual narratives that evoke emotion, memory, and legacy. By reimagining classical portrait traditions and blending them with contemporary texture and symbolism, I aim to create spaces where viewers can see themselves reflected and affirmed.

Rooted in storytelling and community, my work often explores themes of identity, memory, and familial bonds. Each piece becomes a living testament—an offering of beauty, truth, and the quiet grandeur of individual humanity. Whether through bold figurative portraiture or richly layered abstractions, my intention is always to uplift, inspire reflection, and deepen our shared understanding of self and others.

Based in Georgia, I remain committed to using art as a conduit for meaningful dialogue—within my studio, my classroom, and the communities I serve. As I step forward to share my work with a broader audience, I bring with me a rich legacy and commitment to artistic excellence, educational impact, and community engagement. My creative vision continues to evolve through the transformative power of creativity, offering beauty, connection, truth-telling, and bold authenticity to all who encounter it.
